Fishing Reports. |
|
I am very blessed to be
able to fish 4 - 6 days a week
some really great lake in
Alabama. I enjoy the camaraderie
of the clients and friends I
fish with. Most off all though I
enjoy the opportunity to share
fishing adventures and expertise
with others. |
|
Below you will find my fishing
reports. I hope you get as much
out of them as I have making
them. |

With the water slowly
warming the Bass are getting
more and more active. I
spent the past several days
both scouting new water and
checking some of my old
"Honey Holes". My son Ben is
home on leave after
returning from hopefully his
last stint in Iraq. My other
son Chris came home from
Kansas to get married (Bless
his heart). We made the best
of our time together and
spent as much time on the
water as my schedule
allowed. We had some
impressive days and some
that were terrible at best.
We fished mostly with a
lipless rattle bait made
from
www.Stillwater-Lures.com
called the Clatter Shad in a
Crawfish pattern. We also
caught some of our bigger
fish on an Evolution Jig (www.evolutionlures.com)
in Peanut Butter & Jelly
with a Grn/Pmpkn Gary
Yamamoto Crawfish trailer.
We targeted 2 to 3 ft deep
grass with the cranks and
stumps with the jigs. We
also caught good fish in the
grass on a Mister Twister
Comida (Black w/Blue Flake).
We fished mainly in the
mid-lake area in pockets and
sloughs. The fish are
starting to get on a
spinnerbait bite a little
better too. I have started
to see a lot of fish on the
bed and with the New Moon
this week the bigger females
will make a major push.
Please take care of our
fish. I sometimes put 5 fish
in the livewell with
Rejuvenade for a short
period for photos and I am
careful not over handle
them, this can be done with
no harm to the fish. The
Rejuvenade is good for the
fish, it replaces the slime
lost while fighting fish and
kills most bacteria, fungus
and parasites on the fish.
It will also save some
deeply hooked bleeding fish.
Be Safe and God Bless.

Had a great day with a
regular client. Very slow at
first but we finally got on
'em pretty good in the backs
of pockets around stumps and
grass mid-lake. We were
throwing 1/4oz Stillwater
Lures in crawfish pattern
(looks like a rattle trap
with no back fin) (www.stillwaterlures.com).
Finished with 8 fish only
one was short. We didn't get
bit until after 1PM.

This report is for Friday
and Saturday. We spent most
of both days running and
looking. With the wind
Friday most of the day was
spent fishing the backs of
sloughs and creeks. We
caught several fish up to 3
1/2 lbs but just couldn't
find that quality bite. Most
of those were caught on
lipless crankbaits(Red and
Gold or Gold). Saturday was
a beautiful day to be on the
water and we fared a little
better with several good
quality fish. We found the
fish on the edge of humps
near deep water.I have been
catching lots of fish in
shallow water but today the
best bite was definitely the
fish that have just moved
up. All of them were very
light colored. All of these
fish came on crankbaits.
With my boat sitting in 12
to 20 ft we cast to 6 to 8
ft and brought the bait down
with the bait ticking the
top of deeper grass. Slow
and easy. It's good to be
posting again.
Be Safe and God Bless.

12-10-07 to 12-11-07
With this warm weather the
fish have moved up shallow. We
caught good numbers and quality
yesterday Monday) on jerk baits
and Senkos, targeting points
with grass near deep water.
Things changed today, we still
found fish shallow but the
quality was not there and the
spots where I caught fish
yesterday didn't produce today.
I had a repeat client today and
he mostly wanted to learn Winter
time patterns. After we did some
shallow stuff for a while this
morning and caught a few fish we
started riding and looking. I
showed him some of my favorite
deep water spots that have
produced when the water temps
drop. We found some big balls of
baitfish in 30ft of water and
caught a couple of nice fish on
spoons below the bait. May God
